As a Research Scientist Intern, you’ll work with Meta’s Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team. FAIR is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI by developing technologies that enhance our understanding of the world.Â
This role focuses on solving complex system challenges in fields such as deep learning, computer vision, audio and speech processing, natural language processing, and machine learning.Â
By joining this program, you’ll have the chance to create core algorithmic advancements that scale globally.
Meta FAIR’s SysML research division drives AI innovation through open science, developing scalable AI systems and infrastructure to support state-of-the-art technologies.
Internship Duration:
12, 16, or 24 weeks, with flexible start dates throughout the year.
Responsibilities in Research Scientist Meta Internships AI Systems Machine Learning:
- Conduct state-of-the-art research to advance machine learning systems.
- Develop models to understand the semantics of data across various modalities, including images, video, text, and audio.

- Research experience in systems, computer architecture, compilers, programming languages, machine learning, and AI.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, C, or Lua and experience with the PyTorch framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plans to continue PhD studies post-internship.
- Proven research record, including first-authored publications and contributions to top conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
